How do I get started?
Create a free account and get in touch with your event vision. Once we set up your curator access, you'll open the Curator Portal from your profile, submit your first event, and our team will review it within 24-48 hours. Once approved, your event goes live immediately.
When do I receive my payout?
Payouts are processed within 24 hours after your event concludes. We transfer your earnings (total ticket revenue minus the €... per ticket fee) directly by bank transfer or Revolut.
How do ticket buyers pay — do they need an account?
Buyers pay by card through our secure checkout, powered by Viva. They don't need an account — anyone can check out as a guest with just an email address. Tickets arrive instantly by email with a unique QR code, and buyers can grab multiple tickets in one order.
Can I offer member discounts?
Yes! You can set a separate "member price" for MusicPlayground members. This helps attract our engaged community while you still receive your full ticket price (member or regular) minus the flat fee.
Can I offer discount codes?
Yes. We can set up redeem codes for your event — early-bird offers, guest-list rates, whatever fits your promotion. Buyers enter the code at checkout and it's validated instantly. Just tell us what you need when setting up your event.
What types of events can I list?
We welcome live music events, DJ nights, festivals, workshops, jam sessions, and other music-related gatherings. Events must align with our community values of consciousness, inclusivity, and artistic integrity.
Can I run free events?
Absolutely. List your event as free and attendees RSVP instead of buying — they still receive a QR ticket by email, so you keep door control and an accurate headcount. The per-ticket fee only applies to paid tickets, so free events cost you nothing.
How does the scanning work at the door?
Each ticket has a unique QR code, and our scanner runs right in the phone's browser — any smartphone works, nothing to install and no account needed. Door staff open musicplayground.org/scan, enter the access code we provide, pick the event and start scanning. Tickets validate instantly: valid entries are admitted and marked as used, while duplicates, refunded tickets and wrong-event tickets are caught on the spot. Every scan is logged, so you have a full record of door activity.
What happens when my event sells out?
Ticket capacity is tracked in real time. When the last ticket goes, sales stop automatically — no overselling, no awkward door situations. Need to add capacity? Request an update through the portal and we'll adjust it.
Can I edit my event after submission?
For pending events, you can edit freely. Once approved and live, you can request changes through the portal. Our team reviews edit requests to ensure ticket buyers are protected, typically approving within hours.
What if I need to cancel my event?
If an event is cancelled, all ticket buyers are refunded in full. Tickets are otherwise non-refundable by default. Note that booking fees on tickets already sold aren't returned, and repeated cancellations may affect your curator standing. Full details are in our
Curator Terms.
How is VAT handled on ticket sales?
MusicPlayground operates as a "Disclosed Agent". This means you (the Organizer) are the principal seller of the ticket. You are responsible for declaring and paying any VAT due on the full ticket price to the tax authorities. We collect the funds on your behalf and transfer them to you.
What invoices will I receive?
After your event, you will verify your sales and generate two documents via your dashboard:
1. A Payment Receipt showing the total revenue collected.
2. A Tax Invoice from us to you for our booking fee (Service Fee + VAT).
You can download these for your accounting records.
Do I need to be VAT registered?
You do not need to be VAT registered to use our platform. However, it is your responsibility to understand your own tax obligations based on your turnover and local laws.
