Your portals, explained
MusicPlayground has two portals: one for running events, one for your artist profile. Here is who gets which, how they fit together, and how to do the main things.
Which portal is for you
Curators
You put on events. You get the Curator Portal: create and edit your events, sell tickets, see sales, and set up your business details to get paid.
Curator PortalArtists
Artist members get the Curator Portal with an Artist section: your public profile, posts, gigs, invitations and messages, next to the shows you run yourself.
Curator Portal + Artist sectionVenue partners
Venues we work with get the Curator Portal for the events they host, including the door scanner.
Curator PortalHow they connect
One portal, two sides of the same coin. If you're an artist, the Curator Portal's menu has an Artist section next to your events.
Artist section
- Your public artist page: bio, photos, links, members, accent colour
- Posts that notify your followers
- Gigs: the events you're playing at
- Invitations: answer invitations and apply for open slots
- Messages: soundcheck times and details from event teams
Curator Portal
- My Events: the events you organise
- Tickets, sales and payouts
- Your business profile (VAT, IBAN)
- The door scanner on the night
Creating an event as an artist makes you the organiser. You manage it under Your events, and your act is added to its lineup.
Curator Portal: step by step
- Open Profile and add your brand name, photo and bio. This is what buyers see as the organiser.
- Add your VAT number and IBAN. A paid event can't go live without VAT, and we can't pay you out without the IBAN.
- Press Create Event and fill in the basics: title, date, venue.
- Add images, lineup and tickets in the editor. Our team reviews the event before it goes live.
- Once it's live, follow sales under My Events → View Sales, and see the analytics there too.
- On the night, open Door scanner from the portal bar and scan tickets at the door. You can scan your own events only.
- After the event, check Payouts. We transfer what's due and send you the statement.
Running a profile with someone else? An admin can add them as a manager, so you both see the same events.
Artist section: step by step
- In the Curator Portal, open Artist → Your artist page.
- Open Profile: write your bio, add photos, links and members, and pick your accent colour.
- Use Posts for updates. Your followers get a notification.
- Check Gigs for the events you're on, and Messages for details from event teams.
- In Invitations, answer invitations and apply for open slots.
- Have more than one act (a band and a solo project)? Switch between them at the top of the page.
Can't see the Artist section? It's there for artist members. Get in touch and we'll sort it out.
